Societies Committee
The Societies Committee is a six-person committee which exists to oversee and assist SU Societies. The committee consists of the CSO as head of the committee, four councillors (who represent SU Societies at Union Council meetings) and the non-voting secretary. The councillors and secretary are elected annually at the last Societies General Meeting (SGM) of the academic year.
The committee meets at least once every three weeks during term time to discuss issues such as finances, societies wishing to affiliate and business coming up in Union Council. Its members are each given responsibility for liaising with and representing specific societies, and act as a point of contact for members of these societies.
