AU Dinner
The AU dinner is held annually in the summer term, usually just after Easter. The event is one of the highlights of the Athletic Union’s calendar and celebrates the year’s sporting achievements both on an individual and team level. It is at this event that students who have contributed to sport over their years in Bangor receive their Colours and it is also when the team awards such as Team of the Year, Club of the Year and Spirit of the AU are announced. It is a black tie event and usually takes the following format:
- Three course meal
- After Dinner Speaker
- Awards Presentations:
- Half Colours
- Full Colours
- Blues
- Spirit of the AU
- Team, Club, Sportswoman, Sportsman of the Year
- AU Award
- Disco
Previous after dinner speakers have included Tony Blackburn, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards and Paul Boardman.
